Christopher Sequeira's PULSE OF DARKNESS graphic novel omnibus hits the stands across Australia!

Christopher Sequeira, author of the acclaimed DARK DETECTIVE: SHERLOCK HOLMES graphic series from Black House Comics, and the writer of X-MEN: CURSE OF THE MUTANTS (X-Men vs Vampires #1)(Marvel Comics) has seen into print his long-awaited complete edition of PULSE OF DARKNESS: THE VAMPIRE SYNDROME.

This eye-popping 140 page graphic collection presents, for the first time between one set of GLOW-IN-THE DARK (!) covers, the complete series of Sequeira's PULSE OF DARKNESS STORIES which were originally published as separate comics way back in the 1990s. Working with Kurt Stone and other local artists including David Richardson, Daniel Lynch, W. Chew ('Chewie') Chan, Bryce Stevens, Mark Morte, Ashley Riddell, Jan Scherpenhuzien, Paul Abstruse, Gary Chaloner and Shaun 'Swampy' O'Reilly, and letterer Kerry Kennedy, Sequeira presents in glorious cinematographic black and white, with superb colour splash pages, the story of the town Inverness in regional NSW, where something terrifying is taking place. The focus of the peril: a man named Carl Uda, an enigma linked to a famous theatrical family, a man with appetites grim and relentless.

The collection is introduced by Canadian vampire expert Robert Eighteen-Bisang, and includes an interview with Sequeira by Michael Wolloghan. There is also a spotlight on artist Daniel Lynch who performed extensive restoration work on the 20-year-old original artwork of PULSE OF DARKNESS; and a section of contributor notes.

Some may notice the strange resemblance of certain detective characters in the story "House of Uda" to horror writers Bryce Stevens and Leigh Blackmore. The collection includes five stories in all, the others being"Vampire Castle", "Nachzehrer", "Theatricals", and "Hammer and Nails".

PULSE OF DARKNESS is a publication of Cult Fiction Comics Australia (CFCA Indie). See www.myspace.com/cfcaindie

PULSE OF DARKNESS: THE VAMPIRE SYNDROME is available from Minotaur Books in Melbourne and other key comics outlets around Australia
